The original director of “Space Jam” would have criticized the new sequel: “The truth is that LeBron is not Michael”

Last week the eagerly awaited “Space Jam” after “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, starring LeBron James released in theaters and on HBO Max. While some people were thrilled to see the franchise continue, one person who would not have been impressed was Joe Pytka, who directed the original film.

TMZ shares that they spoke with Joe about the new sequel, and according to the site, he wasn’t impressed with the movie. In fact, he would have called the film a “pointless mess.”

However, that’s not all when it comes to his reviews of the new film. Joe also reportedly told the site that he couldn’t finish the two-hour movie in one shoot because it was so boring and took five separate shoots to finish the movie.

TMZ reports that Joe acknowledged that LBJ is “an amazing athlete and a very good actor”, but added, “The truth is, LeBron is not Michael.” He noted that when he directed the 1996 film, not only was Michael Jordan one of the biggest celebrities, but the plot of the film was tied to MJ’s personal life as he retired from basketball. ball to play baseball.

Joe makes comparisons between the soundtracks of the two films and the NBA players who starred in both films.

In the end, he made it clear to TMZ that he wasn’t upset with the remake, he just wasn’t impressed with it. Reportedly, the new movie “looked like one of those fluffy dolls you buy at an airport gift shop to bring your child in when your business trip has taken too long.”

Roommates, what do you think of the new movie?
