Arrest warrants were recently issued by the Sequoyah County District Court in Oklahoma for two suspects who allegedly participated in a robbery at the Cherokee Casino Roland in 2019, according to a released report.
Times of Sequoyah County, a local newspaper, reported that the duo, Angelica M. Wade, 22, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Jeremy Nabors, 34, of McAlester, Oklahoma, allegedly stole $ 1,800 from a woman on the property of games.
The two face charges of second degree theft. If convicted, each could face up to 10 years in prison.
The casino is operated by Cherokee Nation Entertainment. It is located in Roland, Okla. Roland is a small town 112 miles southeast of Tulsa. It is close to the Ozark National Forest.
Police reviewed casino video
Much of the case relies on surveillance video of the gaming property. It shows the victim playing on a gaming machine.
The two suspects were nearby. The victim cashed in his winnings.
Wade then approached the victim and allegedly forcibly stole the money from the woman’s hand, police said.
Nabors held Wade’s glass before she walked over to the victim. He watched Wade steal the money, police said.
As Wade walked away, the victim chased after her. The victim then ran to the casino parking lot.
Once outside, Wade reportedly ran into a parking lot. She then headed to a local motel and restaurant. She got into a car. The car then moved away from the site.
Police released photos of the two suspects after the robbery. But their names were apparently not clear.
On May 13, 2021, police learned that the male suspect was Nabors. Cops in a nearby town later identified the suspects as Wade and Nabors. They were in a relationship in 2019.
In addition, the couple were banned from local businesses at the time after being suspected of shoplifting and trespassing, police said.
Police added that they also discovered that an impounded car that had been stolen was the vehicle the couple used when they allegedly stole from Roland.
Inside the car were items that belonged to Nabors, police said. In addition, inside were stolen items, the police added.
Previous flight in Oklahoma
Earlier this month, in an unrelated incident, an Oklahoma man reported that bandits raided his home, brutally beat him and stole around $ 5,000. He had won the silver at the Comanche Nation Casino in Lawton, Okla.
Masked bandits kicked a front door to his Lawton home, according to the victim’s story, as reported in local media. One of the duos had a gun.
The victim was stunned to the point of losing consciousness. The thieves allegedly stole the money and a cell phone. When he recovered, the victim contacted his mother. She took him to a local hospital.
He told police he had fractures to his skull, eye socket and nose. He also suffered from brain bleeding. He was treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit for several days, reported KFDX, a local television station, based on his accounts to the police.
