Aly Michalka says there could be an “Easy A” sequel

I have a … I have a … I have a … I have a pocket, I have a pocket full of sunshine.

You know Aly Michalka: half of the pop duo Aly & AJ and one of the original cast of the whip-smart rom-com Easy (2010).

If you remember 2010, you might remember Aly being hysterically funny in her role as Rhiannon aka Emma Stone’s best friend Olive Penderghast.

Here are Emma Stone, Penn Badgley (who played Olive’s love interest) and Aly at Easy premiere in Los Angeles.

Regardless, Aly recently stated that a Easy more “could be” in the works, according to E! News, “There are discussions that there might be a sequel. It would be kind of like a new narrative, but you would see some of the characters from the original come back into the story.”

Translation: You Probably shouldn’t expect to see Emma or Penn reprise their roles.

Aly’s sister AJ also stepped in, saying Rhiannon was “one of my favorite roles Aly has ever played.”

“I remember really enjoying being on the set because A, I really liked people,” AJ continued. “Like all the actors were really fun. And B, I also liked seeing Aly exercising her acting skills as much as she could in this movie, which you hadn’t quite done in a movie yet.”

Needless to say, Emma also loved playing in Easy, which was a hilarious account of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1850 novel The scarlet letter.

When the movie first came out, she told Collider how “different and unique it is from anything I’ve read before.”

“There are so many posts throughout, but it doesn’t speak to anyone,” Emma added at the time. “It’s not a message movie. It’s funny and sweet. I thought Olive was such an amazing character. […] Sometimes you read a character and you think, Oh, I could go a million different ways with this, but that wasn’t the case with Olive because she * was *. “
